Could not connect to the specified address. Odds are that you have not established an internet connection, the server isn't running, or the server address or port number was wrong or CCP cant be arsed to provide one employee charged with updating the information avenues available to them to communicate server status to their paying player base yet despite being "on the ball" investigating this event.
/customer service fail
what report do you expect ? some ussually quote : we are dealing with the problem right now, waiting for futher actualization of the provider ? Its like that they contact their provider they try to contact others and in two hours it get solved... deal with it...
Shame i no longer work for Verizon with backbone rights... will have at least slight chance to see whats happening...

I think CCP have more important things to worry about that answering every stupid question being asked on these forums. It's almost 3 a.m. in Iceland right now, I'm sure the night shift and the ones still working from yesterday are doing the best they can until the next shift arrives in a few hours to sort this mess out.
So get the f**k to bed and stop complaining.
all im asking for is a little communication, its called customer service, and that is almost as important as fixing the problem, people are all asking the asme 2 question, why is it ****ed up, and how are you fixing it, we want someone to spend 30seconds saying the damn hamsters have been set loose"
Well they cant post **** until they get some ****... in other words... unless you want some polite phrases about nothing.. just wait.

You want me investigate and fix the problem or talking to you ? Choice is yours.

I think a polite nothing is better than "Tranquility has been returned to service." but you still cannot get on and we will not tell you why or when you can get back on.
Just tell us it's f*&ked and will not be fixed until the morning shift comes in.
To make another quote...
Its not problem of CCP .. as you can see from those traceroutes on this thread... So they cant fix it... its up to providers and their network engineers to fix it and they wont do so if they still see something fishy... aka eliminating source of the problem while keeping functionality...

All routes are operational with decent ping times.

If that means what i think it does... CCP has banned Eurorings...
That means KPN are horrible... it takes them a little longer to realize that what they say is not entirely true..." personal experience "...
But it could mean different things... too not that CCP "forced drop" them but the next provider did.

Your evemone "database" is connected from elsewhere through different route. I would have guessed... or actually connected to entirely different IP /API Database .. not sure..

In case you missed update....
@Tazram or Dazram below me : Dont hold your breath ... it could take couple of hours. Generally communication between two providers take times... unless its escalated to high management lvl.

Originally by: Katrina Raskin My dear giddy Aunt, a lot of these responses remind me why I quit IT. And why I usually wanted to stab the help desk when they tried to figure out/explain network issues to the suits. So, thank you, you've reminded me how the money so was not worth it.
That said...
@Soden
For some reason I always seemed to get "Spice Girls - If you want to be my lover" and often in a short loop. The horror that kicks in when you realise you're absent mindedly humming along with it, is intense.
Well for me it reminds me good old days.. of watching ETMS doing milions things at once why calling at three places .. trying to get updates and watching network for changes. And my wage was well below avarage i would say. xD

well ticket gets escalated cause of gold member prioritized customer. After an hour it went to high management. Engaging the best of the network engineers on holidays who fixed the incompetence of others in teams with quick result and fixed it while on phone bridge with several their buddies at the same high position in different providers of network solutions.
That would be my best guess.

Originally by: Jormungandr Bastanold What i'm refering to is an event causing multiple networking companies to simultaniously reroute their things. I'm guessing that had to be quite a few and that there was a structure in place to that effect.
Its not that hard once you are on phone with others who got privileges to change things .. and got knowledge. aka CCNP. basically it can be changed by one command. xD but regular network engineers dont have sufficient rights.

who? those who hacked or those who use outdated protection. don't be so quick to blame hackers, they do a very important job when it comes to networks. if we ever get to the stage where computers and information is safe, that will be because of the hackers.
its very clear the last few weeks, alot of sys admins and company really don't give a rats bum to our information. using outdated software, not being bothered to patch KNOWN exploits, i could go on about this subject.
The only downside to what is going on, is big company are now in bed with governments trying to make the internet into a fish pond. and sadly support is now growing, these groups are dead on right, it is a war.
and why do people call them hackers, a hacker is someone who hacks into software, a cracker is someone who cracks into networks.
last few years tho people don't refer to crackers and use hackers for everything :S
Yep and armed drug cartells do very good job of keeping narcotic police awarness and readiness.
Regular Murderers do the great job of employing police.
arsonist do great job in keeping fireman well equiped.
Rapist do great job of forcing women to learn sufficient self-defence ?
Shell i continue....
We as an species are truly ****ed when you archieve so high moral relativity that you actually can see the point, which isnt there.
As for the rest of your point... could or could not be... Not that it essentially matters since world wide civil war is on the way, it goes slowly but it will reach us.

Actually, hackers ARE the forefront of computer security technology.
Every single advancement in computer security has been driven by hackers. This is something you always have to be on top of, otherwise... well, you get a situation like what happened here... or worse. Look how things went for Sony for instance.
You can nay-say it all you want, but that's not going to change the truth of the statement.
You mabe true... I guess you are.
But isnt that kind of ****ed up. I mean leaders of "industry" are criminals, Leaders of nation are criminals too.. And we who get JWF/jolly well ****ed by system/ are defending them. I mean really people .. What kind of stupid animals are we ?
@Milia : Ave still selling completed fit hulk xD
